The Enlightened Beings
The Advanced Meditation
Guide |
|||
"All journeys our outward journeys, there is no inward journey. How can you turn inwards? You are already there, there is no point in going. When going stops, journeying disappears. When desiring is no more clouding the mind, you are in." ~ Osho | |||
Meditation is something most of us were told to practice so that we could find peace, truth or spiritual enlightenment in this lifetime. While meditating, we sit quietly for 10-15 minutes, observing our breath, chanting a mantra, focusing quietly on a candle flame, or contemplating the source of who/what we are. It has been taught for thousands of year to be a transcendental experience, which brings a serenity, clarity, creativity and energy to our life. Yet, there are some things that many advanced meditation teachers will overlook to share with you about the long meditation journey ahead. The first is that we only reap the real spiritual benefits from our meditation practice when we stop all efforting. When Gautama Siddhartha finally gave up after 7 years of trying to reach self-realization, was the day he woke up and became The Buddha. He would have never arrived if he did not practice, yet it was also the moment he gave up his practice that he arrived. The world is full of mysteries like this, paradoxes that make the mind think it knows nothing. Nothing we think is true is the way it actually is. There is always another dimension, perspective, 3rd side of the coin because we are living in an infinite field of energy and intelligence called the Universe. When we meditate, we are sitting with this vast infinite truth. The truth that the Universe is all around us, expanding in every direction, going on and on outward for eternity. The interesting thing is that scientists have found that infinite space is also found on the inner atomic microscopic world as well. We are surrounded by an infinite field inside and outside. Meditate on this! The other meditation secret I want to share with you is that just resting in our body doing nothing, we are automatically clearing out all the subconscious clutter in the basement of the mind. This clutter is our karma from past lives, our dharma (life purpose) and every memory we have stored from this lifetime as well. Sitting silently doing nothing is like a glass of muddy water standing still. The mind will cloud your experience, and it will take time for the mud to separate and fall to the bottom. Yet, with patience and time when the mud does settle, there is a clarity and purity that is undeniable.
All the greatest saints, sages and Buddhas in history have all had the same experience of enlightenment. They have reached the peak taking a variety of different paths to get there, yet the peak is always the same. It is the point of pure consciousness, that shows up when the mind is quiet, still and at ease. This is the purpose of meditation. To clear out the clutter so that the mind can one day be cleared away enough for our pure consciousness to blaze through. When our mind is no longer in the way, real spiritual clarity takes over and we have a direct path to knowing God. This is the greatest spiritual benefit from meditation. We have discovered the direct connection and can find peace, joy, compassion, fulfillment and even enlightenment in this lifetime. The other benefit of meditation is that we have the power to direct the mind in any direction for any length of time. Pure conscious awareness is now in charge, and this awareness gives us the ability to attract the experiences and attain the desires in life which your heart loves and enjoys. Whatever it is you most crave to experience in this lifetime, will soon be yours! Manifesting our heart's desires is found through mastering this mind. As we progress through the years on our meditation journey, we learn how to be in harmony and balance with the mind. We learn how to control it when needed, and not be controlled by it. We spend some time using it, yet we are not totally consumed in it and used by it. We have transcended the habit of always paying attention to the mind. We are no longer beggars of our inner world, yet the kings and queens who have true authority over the mind. Meditation is the journey towards mind mastery and this creates life mastery. We can only know the bigger truth of the Universal Source, by letting go of the mind and surrendering to the river of energy that is always already manifesting itself through you. Like taming a wild animal, the mind will get crazier and wilder the more we attempt to control it. If we use force, all the darkest clutter from the subconscious rises to the surface very quickly. However, the more patience, gentleness and playfulness we use in our meditation practice, the more the mind will want to be tamed. It will yearn to have a master, to make it feel safe and secure, just like a dog yearns to have a master to be loyal to. The more frequent we sit and just sit with what is here now, the quietness inside will find its way through. Peace is already at the core, we simply have to relax into it. This deep relaxation on all levels of mind, is what meditation is all about. I would have to say that if there was one quality that you'd need more than any other in this day and age to find spiritual freedom, it would be being playful and enjoying the journey. The more your mind discovers the freedom to play, laugh about itself, and enjoy this life, the more we can play with the dark/light duality that is here. We can find peace with the suffering and the magnificence that is here on Earth and transcend them both. This is the path to enlightenment.
If there were only one purpose for meditating, it would be to transcend the drama and illusions created by our mind and recognize that you are the God Source behind it all. This would be the end of your suffering forever. With a calm centered mind and body, we can explore any unknown and are metaphysically opening up the greatest manifesting channels of energy in the Universe. Meditation is that bridge to both enlightenment and manifestation. It is the connection for inner peace as well as bringing our very dreams and desires into physical form. It's the missing secret we should be teaching every child in school and what most human beings have been missing their entire lives. Meditation is the gateway to an eternal river of inner-bliss that naturally unfolds successfulness in everything we do.
Meditation is an effortless state of being. Not doing anything we stop the mental chatter and ego struggle to be more, have more and do more to be happy. In this peaceful awareness our own energy naturally becomes a lesson for ourselves as well for others who want to live a powerful loving and more conscious life. If you are constantly struggling with life, you are probably not meditating daily. You are most like attached to your mind (ego), stuck like superglue to the thoughts flowing through you. By unconsciously experiencing the effects of each thought coming through, you are perpetuating suffering. Stop this mind! Meditating for 20 minutes everyday is a good starting assignment if you are just beginning. This is enough to start clearing out the ancient "cobwebs" hidden in the subconscious mind. It will empower you in your daily life to find peace with people in the midst of the worst possible life situations. Just sit, and relax in stillness. After 21 days of this practice you might start reaching complete stillness in the mind. If it doesn't happen, do not worry, you just need to practice more and really relax about everything else in your life! There will soon arise a knowing that you are totally free being on a great spiritual adventure. After this time, a new sense of reverence for life and certainty of your infinite nature will arise inside.
Just doing this quiet mind meditation a few times can pierce through the veil of the mind. It can allow you to see the perfection in all of life. There is this sweet discovery of the spiritually awakened being inside you along the way. The more often you do it, the more life becomes a magical adventure from your "normal" daily reality and transforms into this deeply profound relaxing communion with everyone. When your mind finds this stillness and silence inside, you can actually hear your higher self talking to you. It's that quiet calm loving voice from deep in your inner Universe guiding you to make the decisions that bring you into an even higher state of consciousness. Your divine inner voice is always available, always there directing you to find more fulfillment and enjoyment. This is the goal of life. To find your divinity is your purpose for being human and this means freedom is there for the taking. This relationship with your inner guide is how you'll discover the most blissfully expansive peaceful healing stillness within your innermost being. Be patient for it may take a few weeks or months of training to get your vibration up high enough to hear your guidance clearly. Yet the day you discover it, will be well worth the effort. Just like the 7 years it took Siddhartha to become the Buddha. You will be so elated when you know how you can transcend this dream and become the master of your reality. I've created a FREE Quiet Mind Meditation that will help you on your journey. It is guaranteed to soften the walls so that a true spiritual experience can blossom inside you.
When we truly wake up from the mind, we realize there is no other, there is only you. Everything and everyone is an aspect of you. All love is self love, all doubt is self-doubt, all hate is self-hate, and all forgiveness is self forgiveness. We realize that the world is a vast multi-dimensional mirror. Enlightenment is a process of peeling back the layers of yourself that are resisting being one with your Infinite Nature. It is an opening of your Divine Essence, to your Universal Being. When you do, there is a deep stillness...and at the very center of this you'll find a radical spiritual experience. Once the mind stops its perpetual search for more and begins to simply relax being fully present to what is, then samadhi comes to you. Everything becomes very clear and blissful. Quiet your mind chatter and you will master THIS moment. Master this very moment and you'll uncover the sacred purpose of your entire life! To capture the final essence of my entire message here for you... the most AMAZING spiritual experience of your life is available right here right now, in THIS VERY MOMENT! It resides at the innermost core of your being. Just look there, be with what is there, and know there is nothing you need to do to achieve it, except relax...really relax. Rest soooo deeply into the quiet peaceful still center at the heart of your being. Do this daily and you will eventually transcend the ego and spiritually "wake up" naturally on your own. Abide in this center every breathing moment of your life and you will find yourself manifesting a rich life, full of joy, compassion, abundance and perpetual bliss.
