beautiful pointers towards the truth, to awaken that sleeping
part of us that is in need of awakening.
As you read, read
consciously, paying
attention to how each message impacts your body, emotions and mind. One
of these quotes may reveal to you the great
mystery of Enlightenment you are most needing to know.

"Non-possessiveness is basically trust in existence. There is no need
to possess, because the whole is already ours." ~Osho
"You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust.
You were born with ideals and dreams.

There are two types of creators in the world. One type of creator
works with objects - a poet, a painter, they work with objects, they
create things. The other type of creator, the mystic, creates himself.
He doesn't work with objects, he works with the subject; he works on
himself, his own being. And he is the real creator, the real poet,
because he makes himself into a masterpiece. ~Osho
You are carrying a masterpiece hidden within you, but you are standing
in the way. Just move aside, then the masterpiece will be revealed.
Everyone is a masterpiece, because God never gives birth to anything
less than that. Everyone carries that masterpiece hidden for many
lives, not knowing who they are and just trying on the surface to
become someone. ~Osho
Here it is - right now.
Start thinking about it and you miss it. -Huang-po
If you love the sacred
and despise the ordinary,
you are still bobbing in the ocean of delusion - Linji
Drop the idea of becoming someone, because you are already a
masterpiece. You cannot be improved. You have only to come to it, to
know it, to realize it. God himself has created you; you cannot be
improved. ~Osho

"Absence of consciousness is ego. Whenever the ego is absent, God is
present." ~Osho
"There is nobody who is in any way different from you. Once you
understand yourself you have understood the whole humanity. In that
very understanding a great vision arises in which we are all brothers
and sisters and we are all in the same boat. Then fear disappears;
there is nobody to be afraid of. Nervousness disappears; what is there
to be nervous about? We are all in the same boat." ~ Osho
A moment comes suddenly that you see it, which has been eluding you
your whole life. Suddenly, what Gautam Buddha called "eighty-four
thousand doors" open and the great silence that comes when we are at
rest. ~Osho

would be able to discern the beautiful pattern of events. It is your
restlessness that causes chaos." ~Nisargadatta Maharaj

money reflects how we feel about our power to affect the world. Since
money is a mirror of our consciousness, the more comfortable we are

that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen. Claude

“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you
come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance

seen.” ~Leonardo da Vinci

"The Universe has billions of ways to keep us humble and fascinated
all at the same time." ~Mike Pearson
"The will to power and to dominate arises only in the sick mind. It
arises out of the inferiority complex. People who are not suffering
from an inferiority complex do not care about power; their whole
endeavor is for peace, because the meaning of life can be known only
in peace. Power is not the way." ~Osho
"If all you did was just look for things to appreciate you would live
a joyous, spectacular life." ~Abraham-Hicks
When everything is seen
as One, we return to the Source and stay where we have always been.. -Seng-t'san
Not thinking about anything is Zen.
Once you know this, walking, standing,
sitting, or lying down, everything you do is Zen.
Know that the empty mind
can see the Buddha...
Using the mind to look
for reality is delusion.
Not using the mind to look for reality is awareness. ~Bodhiharma
Freeing oneself from the mind is total liberation. When the mind
is the master, you live in a hell.
When you are the master of your mind,
you live in the land of the Buddhas.
Mind creates all delusion. Consciousness
penetrates the mind and transforms all delusion.
If you use the Mind to study Reality,
you won't understand Mind or Reality.
If you study Reality without using mind,
you'll understand both. ~Bodiharma
The Mind and the world are opposites,
and vision arises where they meet.
When your Mind doesn't stir inside,
the world doesn't arise outside.
When the world and the Mind are both transparent,
you have true vision. Such vision is the understanding of the Buddha.
~Bodhiharma
"I am a hole in the
flute that the Christ's breath moves through. Listen to this music. I
am the concert from the mouth of every creature singing with the
myriad chords." - Hafiz
"The singer exists only in singing. The walker exists only in walking.
So is the ego; the ego exists only in clinging, in possessing things,
in dominating things. When there is no domination, no desire to
dominate, no desire to cling, no desire to possess, the ego starts
evaporating." ~Osho
"Everybody wants to be extraordinary. That is the search of the ego;
to be someone who is special, unique, and incomparable. This is the
paradox, the more you try to be exceptional, the more ordinary you
look because everyone is after extraordinaryness. It is such an
ordinary desire. The very search to be ordinary is actually
extraordinary, because rarely does somebody want to be a nobody.
Rarely does somebody want to be a hollow empty space. Yet, this is
really extraordinary because nobody wants it. So when you become
ordinary, you become extraordinary." ~Osho
"The one thing that love requires is to let others know they are not
alone." ~Todd (Heaven is for Real)
1. Obey no orders except those from within.
2. The only God is life itself.
3. Truth is within, do not look for it elsewhere.
4. Love is prayer.
5. Emptiness is the door to truth, it is the means, the end and the
achievement.
6. Life is here and now.
7. Live fully awake.
8. Do not swim, float.
9. Die each moment so that you are renewed each moment.
10. Stop seeking. That which is, is: stop and see
--OSHO
"Compassion is not against anger. When anger disappears, compassion
is. Compassion is not to be fought for; it is not against passion.
When passion disappears, compassion is. Compassion is your nature." ~
Osho
"The choiceless truth of
who you are is revealed to be permanently here permeating everything.
Not a thing and not separate from anything." ~ Gangaji
"When we recognize that nothing has to go right for us to be happy,
and that people don't have to behave for us to love them,
our walk home can become surprisingly simple." ---Hugh Prather
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not
delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." ~ 1
Corinthians 13
"If you could only keep quiet, clear of memories and expectations, you
would be able to discern the beautiful pattern of events. It is your
restlessness that causes chaos." ~Nisargadatta Maharaj
"The essence of saintliness is total acceptance of the present moment,
harmony with things as they happen. A saint does not want things to be
different from what they are; he knows that, considering all factors,
they are unavoidable.
He is friendly with the inevitable and, therefore, does not suffer.
Pain he may know, but it does not shatter him. If he can, he
does the needful to restore the lost balance – or lets things take
their course." ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
Stop imagining yourself being or doing this or that and the
realization that you are the source and heart of all will dawn on
you.- Nisargadatta Maharaj
God's grace consists in the fact that He shines in the heart of every
one as the Self;
that power of grace does not exclude any one, whether good or
otherwise. ~Ramana
Being himself exactly the Supreme Being, but thinking himself to be
separate from Him, (man) strives to become united to Him; what is
stranger than this? ~Ramana
Happiness is the feeling you're feeling when you want to keep feeling
it. ~Source unknown
You are what all happenings happen in.
What happens must happen so remain
unaffected as peace. Be peaceful and
this peace will spread. What rises from
peace is peace and what rises from
confusion is confusion. So be peace and
give this to the universe, it is all you
should do. Even thinking "I am peace"
disturbs this peace, so just be quiet,
be as you are.- Papaji
"When people are truly dedicated to the Divine... there is no
difference between action and prayer." ~ Mother Meera
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will
finally know peace." ~Jimi Hendrix
"Do not be idolatrous about or bound to any doctrine, theory, or
ideology, even Buddhist ones. All systems of thought are guiding
means; they are not absolute truth." ~Thich Nhat Hanh
“Personality is a farce, personality is pseudo, personality is that
which is given to you by the society. Personality is imposed on you
from the outside; it is a mask. Individuality is your very being.
Individuality is that which you bring into the world, individuality is
God's gift. Individuality is a non-egoistic phenomenon; it is pure
am-ness, it has no 'I' in it. Personality is nothing but 'I': it has
no am-ness in it. Personality is aggressive, violent, dominating,
political. Individuality is silent, loving, compassionate; it is
religious….” ~Osho
"God or guru never forsakes the devotee who has surrendered himself."
~ Ramana Maharshi
"The guru does not bring about Self-realization. He simply removes the
obstacles to it." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Awareness which already exists within everyone everywhere, is
imperishable and changeless." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Anger is there, take note of it and just watch how it arises, how it
spreads like a mushroom, how it covers you like a blinding force; how
it starts making decisions for you, how you start acting according to
it. Just watch, and you will be surprised that it cannot do anything.
As it arises, it will not even go to the point of becoming a mushroom
because it can become a mushroom only by nourishment. By watching it
you have cut the very nourishment. It will arise as a crippled anger
which cannot stand up even, and soon it will disperse like mist. It
has no reality except your identification." ~ Osho
"Repressed anger becomes a temporary madness. Something happens which
is beyond your control. If you could have controlled, you would have
controlled it still -- but suddenly it was overflowing. Suddenly it
was beyond you. You couldn't do anything, you felt helpless -- and it
came out. Such a person may not be angry, but he moves and lives in
anger." ~ Osho
"Don't listen to anybody except your own consciousness. When you are
angry, you lose consciousness, you become unconscious. Anger covers
you like a black cloud. You can commit murder, you can destroy life.
But when you are loving, bells of joy start ringing in your heart. You
start feeling your consciousness rising. And if in love also you lose
consciousness, become unconscious, then remember: you are calling
lust, love. And this kind of love is not the right thing, because it
is not going to help you to grow, to expand, to attain the fulfillment
of your potential." ~ Osho
"How do you throw your inner conflict and unease? You make the other
responsible, then you pass through a catharsis. You can become angry
now, you can throw your anger and violence and this will give you a
release, a relief -- of course temporary, because the inside has not
changed. It will again accumulate, it remains the old. Tomorrow again
it will accumulate anger, hatred, and you will have to project it. You
fight with others because you go on accumulating rubbish inside
yourself and you have to throw it out. A person who has conquered
himself has become a self-conqueror, has no inner conflict. The war
has ceased. He is one inside -- there are not two. Such a man will
never project, such a man will not fight with anybody else." ~ Osho
"Life isn't about
finding yourself, life is about creating yourself" ~George Bernard
Shaw
"Life expands or contracts in proportion to one's courage" - Anaļs Nin
"Everything that irritates us about others can lead to a better
understanding of ourselves." - Carl Jung
"When I let go of who I am, I become what I might be." - Lao Tzu
"Anger is active sadness; sadness is inactive anger. They are not two
things. Watch your own behaviour. When do you find yourself sad? You
find yourself sad only in situations where you cannot be angry. The
boss in the office says something and you cannot be angry; it is
uneconomical. You cannot be angry and you have to go on smiling --
then you become sad. The energy has become inactive. You come home,
and with your wife you find a small thing, anything irrelevant, and
you become angry." ~ Osho
"Understanding transforms, it does not sublimate. If you understand,
anger disappears and the same energy becomes compassion. Not that you
sublimate: anger simply disappears, and the energy that was involved,
invested in anger, is released and becomes compassion. When you
understand hate, hate disappears and the same energy becomes love.
Love is not against hate -- it is absence of hate." ~ Osho
"Understand anger, watch anger, become aware of anger. Don't do
anything; just let it be there in front of you. Look deep into it, and
suddenly you will see that just by looking into it, a transformation
starts happening. Just by observation, anger starts changing into
compassion. There is the key. Nothing has to be done -- just awareness
does everything for you. And of course, then you are patient. Not that
you have controlled your anger. You are patient because you are so
happy. You are patient because your anger is transformed into
compassion. You are patient because your hatred has become love. You
are patient because your greed has become a sharing. You are patient
because now you are enjoying life at its peak." ~ Osho
"It is not the strongest
of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one
most responsive to change." ~Charles Darwin
"Love is the only thing you get more of by giving it away" ~ T. Wilson
"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real
tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." ~ Plato (427
-347 BC)
"Somebody insults you and you feel anger. Don't miss this opportunity;
try to understand why, why this anger. And don't make it a
philosophical thing. Don't go to the library to consult about anger.
Anger is happening to you -- it is an experience, a live experience.
Focus your whole attention on it and try to understand why it is
happening to you. It is not a philosophical problem. No Freud is to be
consulted about it. There is no need! It is just foolish to consult
somebody else while anger is happening to you. You can touch it. You
can taste it. You will be burned by it." ~ Osho
"Try to understand why it is happening, from where it is coming, where
the roots are, how it happens, how it functions, how it overpowers
you, how in anger you become mad. Anger has happened before, it is
happening now, but now add a new element to it, the element of
understanding -- and then the quality will change. Then, by and by,
you will see that the more you understand anger, the less it happens.
And when you understand it perfectly, it disappears. Understanding is
like heat. When the heat comes to a particular point -- one hundred
degrees -- the water disappears." ~ Osho
May beauty be before you.
May beauty be behind you.
May beauty be above you.
May beauty be below you.
May beauty be all around you.
~Navajo Blessing
"Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are." ~Anthelme
Brillat-Savarin
"The true value of a human being is determined primarily by the
measure and the sense in which he has attained to liberation from the
self."- Albert Einstein
"To identify oneself with the body and yet to seek happiness is like
attempting to cross a river on the back of an alligator." ~Ramana
Maharshi
"Meditation is not really mind-effort. Real meditation is not effort
at all. Real meditation is just allowing the mind to have its own way,
and not interfering in any way whatsoever -- just remaining watchful,
witnessing. It silences, by and by, it becomes still. One day it is
gone. You are left alone." -Osho
"Misery does not exist in reality but only in mere imagination." ~ Sri
Ramana Maharshi
"So long as you consider yourself to be the body, you see the world as
external and the imperfections appear to you. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"He who thinks he is the doer is also the sufferer." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"There are no others to be helped, for a realized being sees only the
Self; just like a goldsmith estimating the gold in various items of
jewelry sees only the gold. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Know that you are the perfect shining light, which not only makes the
existence of God’s kingdom possible, but also allows it to be seen as
some wonderful heaven." ~ Sri Ramana Maharshi
"The mind is intangible. In fact it does not exist. The surest way to
control it is to seek it. Then its activities cease." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"The normal self is the mind. The mind is with limitations. But pure
Consciousness is beyond limitations, and is reached by investigation
into the "I."" ~ Ramana Maharshi
"There is no use removing doubts one by one. If we clear one doubt
another doubt will arise and there will be no end of doubts. But, if
by seeking the doubter, the doubter is found to be really
non-existent, then all doubts will cease. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Which is the real power (siddhi)? Is it to increase prosperity or
bring about peace? That which results in peace is the highest
perfection (siddhi). ~ Ramana Maharshi
The feeling "I work" is the hindrance. Ask yourself, "Who works?"
Remember who you are. Then the work will not bind you, it will go on
automatically. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"No learning knowledge of scriptures is necessary to know the Self, as
no man requires a mirror to see himself. All knowledge is required
only to be given up eventually as not-Self." ~Ramana Maharshi
"Do not delude yourself by imagining your source to be some God
outside you. Your source is within yourself. Give yourself up to it.
That means that you should seek the source within and merge with it. ~
Ramana Maharshi
"Complete surrender does require that you have no desire of your own.
You must be satisfied with whatever God gives you and that means
having no desire of your own. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"When you demand nothing
of the world, nor of God, when you want nothing, seek nothing, expect
nothing, then the Supreme State will come to you uninvited and
unexpected." ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
"In truth, you are spirit. The body has been projected by the mind,
which itself originates from Spirit." ~Ramana Maharshi
"One who is connected to the Energy Stream is more powerful than a
million who are not. And two who are harmoniously focused and
connected to the Energy Stream brings about a co-creative endeavor
that cannot be matched by anything else in all of the Universe."
~Abraham Hicks
"In a single moment, in one stroke, you can become enlightened. It is
not a gradual process, because enlightenment is not something that you
have to invent. It is something that you have to discover. It is
already there. It is not something that you have to manufacture. If
you have to manufacture it, of course, it will take time; but it is
already there. Close your eyes and see it there. Be silent and have a
taste of it. Your very nature is what I call enlightenment.
Enlightenment is not something alien, outside you. It is not somewhere
else in time and space. It is you, your very core." ~Osho
"You must all have a firm determination. Even if total destruction
comes or any great calamity comes, you must not be shaken from your
determination. If there is a great flood, if fire breaks out - in any
calamity - you must be so brave and determined that you would jump
into fire or water. You must inspire others also to become brave and
courageous. Only he who has courage is a true living being. One who
has no courage is like a dead man, even though he lives. We have
tightened our belts and taken a firm determination to do good to the
world and uplift humanity. You must stick to this resolve with your
full energy. Calamities will fall not just on one country but on the
whole universe; the whole universe is in danger. The terrible times
which are approaching will engulf the whole world; the whole universe
will be enveloped in this destruction. We must consider not only
ourselves but also the whole of the universe. We can achieve anything
in this world when we are hard working and industrious. Because you
must consider the whole universe, we should say "Jai Vishwa!" instead
of "Jai Hind!" "Jai Hind" means "Victory to India" - "Jai Vishwa!"
means "Victory to the whole Universe!" ~Babaji
"Understand the obstructions you are putting in the way of love,
freedom, and happiness and they will drop. Turn on the light of
awareness and the darkness will disappear. Happiness is not something
you acquire; love is not something you produce; love is not something
you have; love is something that has you." ~Anthony de Mello
"The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependant on
it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the
Universe to do." -Galileo Galilei
“Cease trying to work everything out with your minds, it will get you
nowhere. Live instead by intuition and inspiration, let your whole
life become a revelation.” ~Eileen Caddy
"Consciousness has two possibilities: In the first it can become a
bright light in you, so bright that even the sun will look pale
compared to it. Buddha says it can be like 1000 suns have risen
suddenly, and when you look it it, with no mind, all you see is
eternal light. It is all joy, pure, uncontaminated, unpolluted. It is
simple bliss, innocent. It is wonder. Its majesty is indescribable,
it's beauty inexpressible and it's benediction inexhaustible. The
other possibility is you can become self-conscious, and then you fall.
Then you become a separate entity from the world. Then you become an
island, defined, well-defined. Then you are confined because all
definitions confine. You are in a prison cell, and the prison cell is
dark, utterly dark. There's no light, no possibility of light, and the
prison cell paralyzes you. Self-consciousness becomes a bondage and
consciousness becomes freedom. So drop the self and be conscious. That
is the whole message of all the Buddhas of all the ages, past,
present, and future." -Osho
"I want it clearly understood that I'm totally confused." ~Ashleigh
Brilliant
"By doing just a little every day, I can gradually let the task
completely overwhelm me." ~Ashleigh Brilliant
"All I want is a warm bed, a kind word and unlimited power." ~Ashleigh
Brilliant
“Falling in love you remain a child; rising in love you mature.
By and by love becomes not a relationship, it becomes a state of your
being. Not that you are in love – now you are love.” ~Osho
"Be not bewildered. Do not strain yourself to understand all my
mysteries at once. Accept each one as it comes and fit it into the
jigsaw puzzle, knowing that bit by bit each piece will be shown to you
and will fit into place perfectly. Be surprised at nothing. Let peace
and stillness flood through you and envelop you completely in its
cloak. Put on the whole armour of love - and yet feel, feel very
deeply. Let tears flow, washing away impurities until you feel clean
within and clean without. Become like an empty vessel ready to be
filled with my nectar." ~Eileen Caddy
"Help each other. Love everyone. Every leaf. Every ray of light.
Forgive. The only way to be happy is to love. Unless you love, your
life will flash by." ~Tree of Life (DVD)
“And to me, seriousness is a sickness; and the sense of humor makes
you more human, more humble. The sense of humor – according to me – is
one of the most essential parts of religiousness." Osho
"Find God. This is your mission. You are the center of the Universe.
Your center is God, Consciousness, Absolute Reality, Perfection,
Brahman. This is the only piece that exists. You have absolutely
nothing to give up, nothing to surrender, nothing to let go of. You
are already liberated. How can you believe that you have to let go of
something that never existed. It's just Maya. You think that you have
to let go of your attachments, your fears, your worries, your
thoughts. How can the Eternal Self have attachments? It is always
pure, untainted and unattached. It is always opening, experiencing
presence. If you think you have surrender all your fears, depressions,
anxieties, worries...all these things that have been bothering you?
Surrender to whom? Those things are not even yours. They do not belong
to you. You do not have to give them up. You are pure Reality. You are
the imperishable Self. You were never born, you never did prevail, and
you'll never die. You are the One. The all pervading One. You have
absolutely nothing to give up. You never had anything to begin with.
It's actually egotistical to believe you have something to give up.
There's nothing you have to surrender. Its only the ego that believes
that something has to be surrendered, that there's work to do. The
only work is to just drop into what is." ~Robert Adams
"Pleasure or pain are aspects of the mind only. Our essential nature
is happiness. But we have forgotten the Self and imagine that the body
or the mind is the Self. It is that wrong identity that gives rise to
misery. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Self-Inquiry directly leads to realization by removing the obstacles
which make you think that the Self is not already realized. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"Silence is never-ending speech. Vocal speech obstructs the other
speech of silence. In Silence one is in intimate contact with the
surroundings. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"When one remains without thinking one understands another by means of
the universal language of Silence. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The Guru is always within you." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"All that we have to do is to give up identifying the Self with the
body, with forms and limits, and then we shall know ourselves as the
Self that we always are." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The sense of doership is bondage, and not the actions themselves. "Be
still and know that I am God." Stillness will prevail and there will
be no agitation of the mind. Agitation of the mind is the cause of
desire, the sense of doership, and of personality, or the personal
sense of "I." If that is stopped, there is quiet." ~ Ramana Maharshi.
"It is absurd to say either: "I have not realized the Self," or "I
have realized the Self." Why? Are there two selves for one to be the
object of the other? It is the experience of all that it (the Self) is
one." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"It is necessary that to see the mirror we should cease to see the
reflection in it." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Turn the mind inward and search for the seer; you find that you are
the seer and the objective world does not exist." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"He that sees the Self sees the Divine." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"All that you see depends on the seer. Apart from the seer there is no
seen." ~Ramana Maharshi
"Did I ever say that the world is there because of you? I have put to
you the question, "What is there without Self?" You must know that by
the Self, the body -- subtle or gross -- is not meant." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"I am that I am," which implies the metaphysical dictum that the proof
of existence is existence itself." ~Ramana Maharshi
"Silence is truth. Silence is bliss. Silence is peace. And hence
Silence is the Self." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The one unalterable reality is being. Until you realize that state of
pure being you should pursue the inquiry." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Only when the ever-present Consciousness is realized will it be
permanent." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"There is only one state, that is consciousness, or awareness or
existence." ~ Ramana Maharshi
Knowing the Self, God is known. In fact, God is none other than Self.
~ Ramana Maharshi
"Realization of the Self is realization of God. It is not an
experience of God, rather, it is an understanding that one is God." ~
Ramana Maharshi
"Individuality is the illusion that we are not identical with God.
When the illusion is dispelled, what remains is God." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"You are neither
consciousness nor its content. You are the timeless source...the
supreme reality. Trust that." -Nisargadatta
"Don't rely on the mind for liberation...just have faith and act on
it. You are the sum cause of the entire universe." ~Nisargadatta
"Feel ecstatic that there is no end to life, that when you have
reached on one peak, suddenly another peak starts giving you
challenges, a higher one, a more arduous climb, a more dangerous
reach. And when you will have reached the other peak, another peak;
peaks upon peaks. It is an eternal Himalayas of life." ~Osho
"You are born with a tremendous possibility of intelligence. You are
born with a light within you. Listen to the still, small voice within,
and that will guide you. Nobody else can guide you, nobody else can
become a model for your life, because you are unique. Nobody has
there ever been who was exactly like you, and nobody is ever going to
be there again who will be exactly like you. This is your glory, your
grandeur--that you are utterly irreplaceable, that you are just
yourself and nobody else." ~Osho
"The body is no-thing. It is made out of food. Understand? The body is
just food for another body. Sustenance. What is real is the real you.
The higher Self. That which exists without a body, without food.
Do not be concerned about the body. Do not worship the body. It is
temporary. Fragile. Vulnerable to disease, old age, and death. Even
Babaji must abandon the body. Understand? This is my message. Do not
be attached to the body. It will bring much grief. Be aware of the
higher self. Be alert to the higher self. Take care of the body. Feed
it properly. Exercise it properly. But do not be unduly worried or
enamored of it." ~Babaji
“It’s unbelievable how much you don’t know about the game you’ve been
playing your whole life.” ~Mickey Mantle
“Through contradictions I destroy your clinging to the mind and
thinking. Through silence I destroy the world of your feeling. And
when both these layers are gone, you are as existence wanted you to
be, in your purity, in your individuality. You have come home." Osho
"You are the Supreme Being, and yet thinking yourself to be separate
from it, you strive to become united with it. What is stranger than
this?" ~Ramana
"I am no-where but I am every-where instantly. I am here to give. Take
all that you need. Change is difficult. I feel your burden. The body
is not perfect and will always have needs. If you are on the High
Path, living in Truth, Simplicity, Love, and Service. If you are
becoming an independent thinker. Then fear not. Change is inevitable.
Change is the Law of the Universe. But you will get through this. I am
always with you." ~Babaji
"Do not respond to anger. Where there is no Love, do not go. Your
purpose is to transmit the teachings, not to convince, not to expect
that all will listen, understand, or be helped. Remember, you are
serving unconditionally, without expectation." ~Babaji
"As long as we hold on to blame, we cannot forgive. As long as we do
not forgive, we cannot love. Blame is an invention of the wounded ego.
Love knows no blame only compassion. Blaming holds you in the energy
of the duality, of victim and abuser. Forgiving is a direct way of
reclaiming your power and free yourself to love beyond judgement."~
Grace Elohim
“The saddest summary of life contains three descriptions: could have,
might have, and should have.” ~ Unknown
Comes The Dawn
Author: Veronica A. Shoffstall
After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child, And you learn to
build all your roads on today, Because tomorrow’s ground is too
uncertain for plans, And futures have a way of falling down in
mid-flight. After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,Instead of
waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you
really can endure... That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth. And you learn and learn... With every
goodbye you learn. ~Veronica A. Shoffstall
"Whatever is done lovingly, with righteous purity and with peace of
mind, is a good action." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Destiny (karma) is the result of past actions." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Whatever this body is to do and whatever experiences it is to pass
through was already decided when it came into existence." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
Unless the doer of all karmas (actions) -- the ego -- is annihilated
through Inquiry, the perfect peace of Supreme Bliss, which is the
result of Karma Yoga, cannot be achieved. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Until realization, there will be karma, that is, action and reaction.
After realization, there will be no karma, and no world ~ Ramana
Maharshi
Destiny (karma) is the result of past actions. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Until realization, there will be karma, that is, action and reaction.
After realization, there will be no karma, and no world ~ Ramana
Maharshi
He who is forgetful of the Self, mistaking the physical body for it,
and goes through innumerable births, is like one who wanders all over
the world in a dream. Thus, realizing the Self would only be like
waking up from the dream-wanderings. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Surrender can never be regarded as complete so long as the devotee
wants this or that from the Lord. ~ Ramana Maharshi
When there is no "I" there is no karma (destiny). ~ Ramana Maharshi
Bad habits and bad conduct are like a wound in the body. Every disease
must be given appropriate treatment. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Whatever is done lovingly, with righteous purity and with peace of
mind, is a good action. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Since everyone is one's own Self, whoever does whatever to whomever is
doing it only to himself. ~ Ramana Maharshi
If one scrutinizes one's own Self, which is bliss, there will be no
misery at all in one's life. ~ Ramana Maharshi
To bring about peace means to be free from thoughts and to abide as
pure Consciousness. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Good, God, Love, are all the same thing. If the person keeps
continuously thinking of any one of these, it will be enough. All
meditation is for the purpose of keeping out all other thoughts. ~
Ramana Maharshi
You must love all and help all, since only in this way can you help
yourself. ~ Ramana Maharshi
If one knows the truth that all one gives to others is giving only to
oneself, who indeed will not be a virtuous person and perform the kind
act of giving to others. ~ Ramana Maharshi
You are not instructed to shut your eyes to the world, you are only to
"see yourself first and then see the whole world as the Self." ~
Ramana Maharshi
Since everyone is one's own Self, whoever does whatever to whomever is
doing it only to himself. ~ Ramana Maharshi
To be the Self that you really are is the only means to realize the
bliss that is ever yours. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Faith is in things unknown, but the Self is self-evident. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
Consciousness is always Self-consciousness. If you are conscious of
anything, you are essentially conscious of yourself. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Although tendencies towards sense-objects, which have been recurring
down the ages, rise in countless numbers like the waves of the ocean,
they will all perish as meditation on one's nature becomes more and
more intense. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Stick to this "I"-thought and question it to find out what it is. When
this question takes strong hold on you, you cannot think of other
thoughts. ~ Ramana Maharshi
What does it matter how many thoughts rise? At the very moment that
each thought rises, if one vigilantly inquires, "To whom did this
rise?" it will be known "To me." If one then inquires, "Who am I?" the
mind will turn back to its source (the Self) and the thought which had
risen will also subside. By repeatedly practicing thus, the power of
the mind to abide in its source increases. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The mind will subside only by means of the inquiry, "Who am I?" The
thought "Who am I," destroying all other thoughts, will itself finally
be destroyed like the stick used for stirring the funeral pyre. ~
Ramana Maharshi
If you are vigilant and make a stern effort to reject every thought
when it rises, you will soon find that you are going deeper and deeper
into your own inner self. At this level it is not necessary to make an
effort to reject thoughts. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Cling to yourself, that is, to the "I"-thought. When your interest
keeps you to that single idea, other thoughts will automatically get
rejected and they will vanish. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Reality is simply the loss of ego. Destroy the ego by seeking its
identity. Because the ego is no entity it will automatically vanish
and reality will shine forth by itself. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Atma-vichara (Self-Inquiry) alone can reveal the truth that neither
the ego nor the mind really exists, and enable one to realize the
pure, undifferentiated being of the Self or the absolute. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"You have to remember
that freedom is the highest value, and if love is not giving you
freedom then it is not love." ~Osho
"Love is the only thing you get more of by giving it away" ~T. Wilson
Having realized the Self, nothing remains to be known, because it is
perfect bliss, it is the all. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The attempt to destroy the ego or the mind through sadhanas
(practices) other than atma-vichara (Self-Inquiry) is just like the
thief pretending to be a policeman to catch the thief that is himself.
~ Ramana Maharshi
Self-Inquiry is the one infallible means, the only direct one, to
realize the unconditioned, Absolute Being that you really are. ~
Ramana Maharshi
Vichara (inquiry) is the process and the goal also. "I am" is the goal
and the final reality. To hold to it with effort is vichara. When
spontaneous and natural it is realization. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Realization is nothing new to be acquired. It is already there, but
obstructed by a screen of thoughts. All our attempts are directed to
lifting this screen and then realization is revealed. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
Meditation requires an object to meditate upon, whereas there is only
the subject without the object in vichara (inquiry). Meditation
differs from vichara in this way. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Hold the ego first and then ask how it is to be destroyed. Who asks
the question? It is the ego. This question is a sure way to cherish
the ego and not to kill it ~ Ramana Maharshi
The essence of mind is only awareness or consciousness. When the ego,
however, dominates it, it functions as the reasoning, thinking or
sensing faculty ~ Ramana Maharshi
In a cinema-show you can see pictures only in a very dim light, or in
darkness. When all the lights are switched on, the pictures disappear.
So also in the flood light of the supreme atman (Self) all objects
disappear ~ Ramana Maharshi
The ego's phenomenal existence is transcended when you dive into the
source from where the "I" thought rises. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Get rid of the "I" thought. So long as "I" is alive, there is grief.
When "I" ceases to exist, there is no grief. ~ Ramana Maharshi
When the mind unceasingly investigates its own nature, it transpires
that there is no such thing as mind. This is the direct path for all.
~ Ramana Maharshi
The mind is merely thoughts. Of all thoughts the thought "I" is the
root. Therefore, the mind is only the thought "I." ~ Ramana Maharshi
When the mind unceasingly investigates its own nature, it transpires
that there is no such thing as mind. This is the direct path for all.
~ Ramana Maharshi
From where does this "I" arise? Seek for it within; it then vanishes.
~ Ramana Maharshi
The mind is nothing other than the "I"-thought. The mind and the ego
are one and the same. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The jnani (enlightened one) lives in the Heart. When he moves about
and deals with men and things, he knows that what he sees is not
separate from the one supreme reality, the Brahman which he realized
in the Heart as his own Self, the real." ~ Ramana Maharshi
The conception that there is a goal and a path to it is wrong. We are
the goal or peace always. To get rid of the notion that we are not
peace is all that is required." ~ Ramana Maharshi
Effort must be made to eradicate the mental tendencies. Knowledge can
only remain unshaken after all the mental tendencies are rooted out."
~ Ramana Maharshi
The idea of time is only in your mind. It is not in the Self. There is
no time for the Self. Time arises as an idea after the ego arises." ~
Ramana Maharshi
The mind cannot kill itself. So, your business is to find the real
nature of the mind. Then you will know that there is no mind. When the
Self is sought, the mind is nowhere. Abiding in the Self, one need not
worry about the mind. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Speaking of realization, it implies two selves-the one to realize, the
other to be realized. What is not already realized is sought to be
realized. Once we admit our existence, how is it that we do not know
our self? ~ Ramana Maharshi
Because we exist the ego appears to exist. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Hearing the truth (sravana) is the first stage. If the understanding
is not firm one has to practice reflection (manana) and uninterrupted
contemplation (nididhyasana) on it. These two processes scorch the
seeds of samskaras (mental tendencies) so that they are rendered
ineffective. ~ Ramana Maharshi
That upon which memory and oblivion depend is the idea of the
individual self. When one looks for it, this individual "I" is not
found because it is not real. Hence this "I" is synonymous with
illusion or ignorance (maya, avidya or ajnana). ~ Ramana Maharshi
When you identify yourself with the body then only the forms and
shapes are there. But when you transcend your body the others
disappear along with your body-consciousness. ~ Ramana Maharshi
When you try to trace the ego, which is the basis of the perception of
the world and everything else, you find the ego does not exist at all
and neither does all this creation that you see ~ Ramana Maharshi
The ego--self appears and disappears and is transitory, whereas the
real Self is permanent. Though you are actually the true Self you
wrongly identify the real Self with the ego--self. ~ Ramana Maharshi
There is no goal to be reached. There is nothing to be attained. You
are the Self." ~ Ramana Maharshi
One believes that there is bondage and therefore seeks liberation. But
the fact is that there is no bondage but only liberation. Why call it
by a name and seek it?" ~ Ramana Maharsh
The state of being is permanent; things in the world are not. They are
fleeting phenomena passing on the screen of being--consciousness,
which is eternal and stationary." ~ Ramana Maharshi
How long does it take to reach mukti (liberation)? Mukti is not to be
gained in the future. It is there forever, here and now. Abiding in
that consciousness by which we know that we exist is absolute
stillness. It's thoughtless Awareness. It's consciousness without an
object or a subject. It is the Awareness that's prior to subject,
prior to object. This is what is meant by Self-abidance. This is what
is meant by Silence. This is Stillness. In this silent stillness,
there is peace.
Realization is for everyone; realization makes no difference between
the aspirants. This very doubt, whether you can realize, and the
notion "I-have-not-realized" are themselves the obstacles. Be free
from these obstacles also." ~ Ramana Maharshi
There is no reaching the Self. If Self were to be reached, it would
mean that the Self is not here and now and that it is yet to be
obtained. What is got afresh will also be lost." ~ Ramana Maharshi
Realization is nothing to be gained afresh; it is already there. All
that is necessary is to get rid of the thought "I have not realized."
~ Ramana Maharshi
If a man thinks that his happiness is due to external causes and his
possessions, it is reasonable to conclude that his happiness must
increase with the increase of possessions and diminish in proportion
to their diminution. Therefore, if he is devoid of possessions, his
happiness should be nil. What is the real experience of man? Does it
conform to this view? No. ~ Ramana Maharshi
That which is called happiness is only the nature of Self; Self is not
other than perfect happiness. That which is called happiness alone
exists. Knowing that fact and abiding in the state of Self, enjoy
bliss eternally." ~ Ramana Maharshi
The mind turned inwards is the Self; turned outwards, it becomes the
ego and all the world." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The world is a looking
glass. It gives back to every man a true reflection of his own
thoughts. Rule your mind or it will rule you." ~Buddha
"Through contradictions you destroy your clinging to the mind and
thinking. Through silence you destroy the world of your feeling. When
both these layers are gone, you are as existence wanted you to be, in
your purity, in your individuality. You have come home." ~ Osho
"Immature love says, "I love because I need you" and mature love says
"I need you because I love you" ~Unknown
“The sun shines down, and its image reflects in a thousand different
pots filled with water. The reflections are many, but they are each
reflecting the same sun. Similarly, when we come to know who we truly
are, we will see ourselves in all people." ~Ammachi
“Love is our true essence. Love has no limitations of caste, religion,
race, or nationality. We are all beads strung together on the same
thread of love. To awaken this unity--and to spread to others the love
that is our inherent nature--is the true goal of human life." ~Ammachi
"The highest phenomenon is when love is a state and not a
relationship. Not that you are in love, but that you are love. Then
love reaches to the highest peak possible, and at that peak it becomes
prayer, at that peak it is meditation, at that peak it touches the
feet of God. It becomes a dialogue with the whole of existence. Then
you are in dance, and the whole of existence is the partner – the
trees and the stars and the mountains." ~Osho
"Nothing matters so much that we should throw ourselves into a state
of panic about it. No happening is so important that we should let
ourselves be exiled from inner peace and mental calm for its sake." ~
Paul Brunton
"Always remember deep in your heart that all is well and everything is
unfolding as it should. There are no mistakes anywhere, at any time.
What appears to be wrong is simply your own false imagination. That's
all. But we live in a universe of Brahman, of Absolute Reality, self
-contained Consciousness, where there's perfection, perfect life,
perfect bliss, perfect being. That perfection knows nothing about
wrong and right, good and bad, happy and sad. It knows only itself as
Perfection. And you are That." ~Robert Adams
"There is only one state, that of consciousness or awareness or
existence. The three states of waking, dream and sleep cannot be real.
They simply come and go. The real will always exist." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"Actually, the idea of the Self being the witness is only in the mind;
it is not the absolute truth of the Self. Witnessing is relative to
objects witnessed. Both the witness and his object are mental
creations." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The mind is intangible, in fact it does not exist. The surest way to
control it is to seek it. Then its activities cease." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
"There are no others to be helped, for a realized being sees only the
Self; just like a goldsmith estimating the gold in various items of
jewelry sees only the gold." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"All metaphysical discussion is profitless unless it causes us to seek
within the Self for the true reality. All controversies about
creation, the nature of the universe, evolution, the purpose of God,
etc., are useless. They are not conducive to our true happiness.
People try to find out about things which are outside of them before
they try to find out "Who am I?" Only by the latter means can
happiness be gained." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The proper way to get rid of a desire is to find out "Who gets the
desire? What is its source?" When this is found, the desire is rooted
out and it will never again emerge or grow." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Meditation is not so much thinking of the Self as giving up thinking
of the not-Self. When you give up thinking of outward objects and
prevent your mind from going outwards by turning it inwards and fixing
it in the Self, the Self alone remains." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The final obstacle in meditation is ecstasy; you feel great bliss and
happiness and want to stay in that ecstasy. Do not yield to it but
pass on to the next stage which is great calm." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"You must never rest content with the pleasure of Laya (temporary
abeyance of the mind) experienced when thought is quelled, you must
press on until all duality ceases." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The normal self is the mind. The mind is with limitations. But pure
Consciousness is beyond limitations, and is reached by investigation
into the "I"" ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Which is the real power (siddhi)? Is it to increase prosperity or
bring about peace? That which results in peace is the highest
perfection (siddhi)." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"There is no moment when the Self as consciousness does not exist, nor
can the seer remain apart from consciousness." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Renunciation is always in the mind, not in going to forests or
solitary places, or giving up one's duties. The main thing is to see
that the mind does not turn outward but inward." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Attending to the Self means attending to the work. Because you
identify yourself with the body, you think that work is done by you.
But the body and its activities, including that work, are not apart
from the Self." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The feeling "I work" is the hindrance. Ask yourself, "Who works?"
Remember who you are. Then the work will not bind you, it will go on
automatically." ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Give love and unconditional acceptance to those you encounter, and
notice what happens.” ~ Wayne Dyer
"Life's problems may be complicated, yet the answers are always very
simple." ~Unknown
"If you really want to create peace on the earth,
create peace in your heart, in your being.
That is the right place to begin with...and then spread
and radiate peace and love. If more and more people
become peaceful, joyous, dance, sing and say hallelujah from their
very innermost core, it will become impossible for
these few mad people to create a war." ~ Osho
"You must have faith. Everything depends on faith." ~Babaji
"If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, 'thank you,' that
would suffice." ~ Meister Eckhart
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
~ Winston Churchill
"If only people who worry about their liabilities would think about
the riches they do possess, they would stop worrying. Would you sell
both your eyes for a million dollars... or your two legs... or your
hearing? Add up what you do have, and you'll find that you won't sell
them for all the gold in the world. The best things in life are yours,
if you can appreciate yourself" - Dale Carnegie
"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today,
at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at
least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die;
so, let us all be thankful." - Buddha
"In daily we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful,
but gratefulness that makes us happy." - David Steindl-Rast
"When we give of our attention, we give of our soul. One moment of
pure attention is worth a pound of gold." - Lisa Guyman
"I thank God for my handicaps for, through them, I have found myself,
my work, and my God." ~ Helen Keller
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It can turn a meal into a
feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes
sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for
tomorrow." ~ Melody Beattie
"Self-Inquiry directly leads to realization by removing the obstacles
which make you think that the Self is not already realized." ~ Ramana
Maharshi
Abide in your true nature. What does that mean? Cease identifying with
the objectified movement of consciousness; i.e., with consciousness
moving outward or objectively, and remain in non-objective Awareness,
or pure Being. ~ Ramana
Silence is never-ending speech. Vocal speech obstructs the other
speech of silence. In silence one is in intimate contact with the
surroundings." ~ Ramana Maharshi
You may think and say you are choosing happiness, but the moment you
rise in identification with the mind, you just told a lie about
choosing happiness, you have just proven otherwise. Don't say one
thing and be something else. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"When one remains without thinking one understands another by means
of the universal language of silence." ~ Ramana Maharshi
Being your Self is being pure Love, and that is what bliss is.
There is no real love until you are that pure Love. ~ Ramana Maharshi
All that we have to do is to give up identifying the Self with the
body, with forms and limits, and then we shall know ourselves as the
Self that we always are." ~ Ramana Maharshi
The sense of doership is bondage, and not the actions themselves. "Be
still and know that I am God." Stillness will prevail and there will
be no agitation of the mind. Agitation of the mind is the cause of
desire, the sense of doership, and of personality, or the personal
sense of "I." If that is stopped, there is quiet.~ Ramana Maharshi.
All that we have to do is to give up identifying the Self with the
body, with forms and limits, and then we shall know ourselves as the
Self that we always are." ~ Ramana Maharshi
The moment you start looking for the Self and go deeper and deeper,
the real Self is waiting there to take you in" ~ Ramana Maharshi
The sense of doership is bondage, and not the actions themselves. "Be
still and know that I am God." Stillness will prevail and there will
be no agitation of the mind. Agitation of the mind is the cause of
desire, the sense of doership, and of personality, or the personal
sense of "I." If that is stopped, there is quiet. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Consciousness of the Self is the normal state; our present
entanglement is the abnormal state. We imagine that we have to develop
towards a perfect state, when we are already in it now, but have
covered it with external things and thoughts. People talk of attaining
the super-consciousness, but this is wrong. This Self is our normal
consciousness; we imagine we have to develop and attain it, but we are
in it all the time, it is just that our attention is diverted away
from it to the intellect and to objects. ~ Ramana Maharshi
All the ancient scriptures are intended simply to make us retrace our
steps to the original source. There is no need to gain anything. We
must simply give up false ideas and useless accretions. Instead of
doing this, we try to catch hold of something strange and mysterious,
believing that happiness lies elsewhere. That is the mistake. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
The Heart is the center from which everything springs. Because you now
see the world, the body etc, it is said that there is a center for
them called the Heart. But when actually in it, the Heart is neither
in the center nor at the circumference as then there is nothing else.
~ Ramana Maharshi
The life-current originates in the Heart. This Heart is not the
physiological organ of that name, but a spiritual center near to it.
Thus everyone, even a child, of every creed or race, when referring to
the "heart" as a metaphor for their deepest feelings will nevertheless
point to the breast with their hand. But such discussions as inside or
outside the body cannot arise in Self-realization. ~ Ramana Maharshi
When you have found the center, you will find that it encompasses the
whole world; if you want, the radius can be extended to your body or
to the world. We start with the wrong presumption that the circle is
confined to the human form. Locate the center first. To that you
always return, and you always remain in it; it is the common center
for all humanity when they realize. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The Self is simple Being. Be! and there will be an end to ignorance.
The "I" is always there. There is no knowing it. It is not new
knowledge to be acquired. There is an obstruction to its knowledge
called ignorance. Remove it. Ignorance and knowledge are not for the
Self: they should be cleared away. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Can I go on thinking "I am God?" Is that right practice? ~ Ramana
Maharshi
In fact you are God. But who goes around saying, "I am a man," "I am a
male?" Of course, if there were any contrary thought that had to be
refuted, such as, "I am an animal," then you might say, "I am a man."
To the extent of crushing the wrong notion that one is this or that,
according to one's erroneous fancies, you may indulge in the thought,
but when the practice is over, the result will be no thought at all
but merely Self-realization. There is no need of or meaning in thought
at that stage; it is beyond conceptual thought. ~ Ramana Maharshi
There can be no real investigation into the Atman. The investigation
can only be made into the non-self. It is only possible to eliminate
the non-self. As the Self is always self-evident, it will shine of
itself. "Knowing" means "Being." It is not relative knowledge. ~
Ramana Maharshi
Progress can be spoken of in reference to things to be attained,
whereas here it is the removal of ignorance, and not the acquisition
of knowledge. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The idea of diversity comes with body-consciousness, which arose at
some moment; it has an origin and an end. What originates must be
something. What is that something? It is "I"-consciousness. On finding
its source you realize Absolute Consciousness. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Can the world exist without one to cognize it? Which comes first the
being-consciousness or the rising-consciousness? The former is always
there and eternal; the latter rises and disappears. It is transient. ~
Ramana Maharshi
Know the Self, and God is known. Of all the definitions of God, none
is so well put as the Biblical "I AM THAT I AM" in the book of Exodus.
But none is so direct as the name Jehovah "I AM." The Absolute Being
is what is. It is the Self. It is God. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The Self is here and now and alone. It is not new and something to be
acquired. It is natural and permanent. The term "Self" refers to the
unlimited, the infinite Self; do not limit its meaning. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
All thoughts such as, "Attainment is hard," or "Self-realization is
far from me," or "I have to overcome many difficulties to know
Reality," should be given up, as they are obstacles and are created by
this false self, ego. They are untrue. Do not doubt that you are the
Reality; live in that understanding. Never question it by deferring
your realization of it to some future time. It is because people are
victimized and hypnotized by such false thoughts that the Gita says
that few out of millions realize the Self. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"There is no more a
greater challenge in life than love. If you love someone, you are in a
tremendous turmoil. Love is not all roses as your poets have said...it
is more thorny than you can imagine. Love is the greatest danger in
life. If you really want to grow accept the greatest danger and move
into it." ~Osho
After you have rejected what was to be rejected, and accepted what was
to be accepted,
then only acceptance remains hollow. At that end you'll say, 'What's
this acceptance for, even? I don't need it." Then you'll arrive at
'Who am I?' - Swami Amar Jyoti
"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a
butterfly." ~ Buckminster Fuller
"Do you know that if you took all the space
in between all the particles in your body out,
there wouldn't be enough matter left
to fit on a pinhead. You are mostly space!
If you took that matter on that pinhead,
that matter is not matter at all, its energy.
The whole Universe is energy....
a huge sea of energy." ~Chris Bourne
Gather all courage and take a jump.
Even the dewdrop slipping from a lotus leaf trembles
for a moment, tries to hang on a little more,
because he can see the ocean...
once he has fallen from the lotus leaf he is gone.
Yes, in a way you will not be; just as a dewdrop
dissolves into the ocean, you will be gone.
But it is not a loss. You will be oceanic.
And all other oceans are limited.
The ocean of existence is unlimited. ~Osho
"Yoga means to be evolving in the dimension where there is no object,
and only consciousness remains. When you are conscious of something
you’re not conscious of being conscious." ~Osho
"Faith is a state of openness or trust. To have faith is like when you
trust yourself to the water. You don't grab hold of the water when you
swim, because if you do you will become stiff and tight in the water,
and sink. You have to relax, and the attitude of faith is the very
opposite of clinging, and holding on. In other words, a person who is
fanatic in matters of religion, and clings to certain ideas about the
nature of God and the universe becomes a person who has no faith at
all. Instead they are holding tight. But the attitude of faith is to
let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be." -
Alan Watts
"There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved." ~George
Sand
"Do not respond to anger. Where there is no Love, do not go. Your
purpose is to transmit the teachings, not to convince, not to expect
that all will listen, understand, or be helped. Remember, you are
serving unconditionally, without expectation. ~Babaji
"Close your eyes and see it there. Be silent and have a taste of it.
Your very nature is what I call enlightenment. Enlightenment is not
something alien, outside you. It is not somewhere else in time and
space. It is you, your very core." ~Osho
The Self is beyond duality. If there is one there will also be two.
Without one there are no other numbers. The truth is neither one nor
two. It is as it is. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Be always feeling and reflecting on the real Being. Be That. Cling
close to It. Let your quest be constant and sustained until you catch
the Self and thereby find eternal happiness.~ Ramana Maharshi
The fact is that you are ignorant of your blissful state. Ignorance
draws a veil over the pure Bliss. Direct your attempts only towards
removing the ignorance. This ignorance is just wrong knowledge. The
wrong lies in the false identification of the Self with the body and
mind. This false identity must go by inquiry into the Self. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
There is no reaching the Self. If it were to be reached, it would mean
that the Self is not here and now, but would have to be gained. What
is got afresh will also be lost. So it will be impermanent. What is
not permanent is not worth striving for. So I say the Self is not
reached. You are the Self. You are already That. ~ Ramana Maharshi
See what the Self is. What you consider to be the Self is really
either the mind, the intellect, or the "I"-thought. So hold onto the
"I"-thought and the other thoughts will vanish, leaving the Self. ~
Ramana Maharshi
The changefulness is mere thought. All thoughts arise after the
"I"-thought. See to whom these thoughts arise. Then you will transcend
them and they will subside. That is to say, by tracing the source of
the "I"-thought, you will realize that the perfect "I-I-I" is the name
of the Self. ~ Ramana Maharshi
There are neither good nor bad qualities in the Self. The Self is free
from all qualities. Qualities pertain to the mind only. The inquiry
should be where the "I" is. After the rise of the "I"-thought, there
is false identification of the "I" with the body, the senses, and the
mind. Self is wrongly associated with them; one has lost sight of the
true Self. In order to sift the pure "I" from the contaminated "I,"
this discarding (of the koshas or sheaths referred to in the Sastras
[Scriptures]) is mentioned. It does not mean exactly the discarding of
the non-self, but more the finding of the real Self. The real Self is
the infinite "I-I" in perfection. It is eternal. It has no origin and
no end. The other "I" is born and dies. It is impermanent. See to whom
the changing thoughts occur. They will be found to arise after the
"I"-thought. Hold onto the "I"-thought and they will subside. The Self
alone will remain. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Are there two "I's?" How do you know your existence? Do you see
yourself with these eyes? Question yourself. How does this question
arise? Do I remain to ask it or not? Can I find myself as I do in a
mirror? Because your outlook has been turned outwards, it has lost
sight of the Self and your vision is external. The Self is not found
in external objects. Turn your gaze around and plunge within. You will
be the Self. ~ Ramana Maharshi
The peace that you discovered in your temporary spiritual experiences
was found in your Self. It was not imposed upon you. A time will come
when we shall have to laugh at our own efforts to realize, for we
shall find that what we were before and after is the same. ~ Ramana
Maharshi
One who knows the Self has nothing more to do, nor has he any more
thoughts. From then on, the infinite power will carry out all further
actions that may be necessary for him. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"The final obstacle in meditation is ecstasy; you feel great bliss and
happiness and want to stay in that ecstasy. Do not yield to it but
pass on to the next stage, which is great calm. ~ Ramana Maharshi
"Peace is the inner nature of humankind. If you find it within
yourself, you will then find it everywhere. ~Ramana Maharshi
"It is the Teachings that survive the Teacher. It is the Teachings
that survive the Rituals. Constructing a Cathedral to God is building
for the Ego, the lower self. Constructing a Cathedral to share the
Teachings, to Serve humans, to promote Peace, to end poverty, war,
loneliness and despair, inequality....... this is the true monument to
God. There are scant few of these." ~Babaji
"There is enough energy in a single cubic meter of space to boil all
the oceans in the world." ~Richard Feynman
"In the stillness lies the greatest power. When consciousness becomes
perfectly still, the illusion is perfectly understood because it is
consciousness that is creating the illusion. When the thinking mind is
still, then you see reality as it is. You realize that Self and other
are not separate. The mountain and valley are inseperable. Everything
is connected, one consciousness, one field that moves through all.
Everything has spirit. It is happening through you, as you. You are
the "you" in Universe." ~Awaken The World Film https://www.youtube.com/embed/aXuTt7c3Jkg
"If you name me, you negate me." ~Kirkegard
"When man is born, he is tender and weak; at death he is hard and
stiff. When things and plants are alive, they are soft and supple;
when they are dead they are brittle and dry. Therefore hardness and
stiffness are the companions of death, and softness and gentleness the
companions of life. When an army is headstrong, it will lose in
battle. When a tree is hard, it will be cut down. The big and strong
belong underneath. The gentle and weak belong at the top." - Lao Tzu
"The periphery is moving, your center is not moving. In your center
there is a silence, with no anger and no anti-anger, no sex and no
celibacy, no greed and non-greed, no violence and no nonviolence
because those are all outside. All the opposites are on the outside,
inside you are neither this nor that. You are simply a being, pure.
Being like a god, a pure being with no opposites hanging around,
fighting or flighting. Simply being." - Osho
"Man is not born into mastery. You are born a slave of unconscious
forces. The first step toward mastery is to recognize your slavery. To
see that you are unconscious is the beginning of consciousness." -Osho
"There is no need to run towards the Ocean. Just slowly enjoy the
trees, and the birds, and the people, having a trust in your heart
that every river has always reached the Ocean so you cannot be the
exception. Existence does not allow any exceptions. You will also
reach the Ocean." ~Osho
"Reality is simply the loss of ego. Destroy the ego by seeking its
identity. Because the ego is no entity it will automatically vanish
and reality will shine forth by itself. This is the direct method." -
Sri Ramana Maharshi
“The more honest and authentic we are, the more deeply we go into the
mystery of our own being.” ~ Adyashanti
"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the
drama and people who create it.
You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad,
and focus on the good.
Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life
is too short to be anything but happy.
Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." ~Unknown
"We all live under the same sky, but we don't see the same light--"

"Learning how to be still, to really be still and let life happen –
that stillness becomes a radiance." ~Morgan Freeman

along.” ~ Rumi

It is those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn." ~ Alvin Toffler
"Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames." ~ Rumi
"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of
colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the
night." ~Rainer Maria Rilke
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” ~ Rumi
“Dance, when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage
off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance
when you're perfectly free.” ~ Rumi
“Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation.” ~ Rumi
“And still, after all this time, the Sun has never said to the Earth,
"You owe me." Look what happens with love like that. It lights up the
sky.” ― Hafiz
“This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to
fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step
without feet.” ~ Rumi
"You cannot be truthful if you are not courageous. You cannot be loving
if you are not courageous. You cannot be trusting if you are not
courageous. You cannot enter into reality if you are not
courageous.Hence courage comes first... and everything else follows."
-Osho
"Apart from the futility of effort itself, any attempt to prevent
thoughts from arising divides the mind artificially into that which
does the prevention against
that which is being prevented, creating only neurosis and conflict.
Whatever thoughts arise (being without substance) will promptly vanish
by themselves if they are not accepted and pursued as effective
reality. To try to erase thoughts consciously and deliberately is like
trying to wash away blood with blood." ~ Ramesh S. Balsekar
"Life is a mystery. The more you understand it, the more mysterious it
becomes. The more you know, the less you feel that you know. The more
you become aware of the depth, the infinite depth, the more it becomes
almost impossible to say anything about it." -Osho
“You Can’t Change the Truth, But the Truth Can Change You.”
"You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that
something else is more important than fear." ~Ambrose Redmoon
"When you build a house, every brick counts. When you build a

"All things are created twice. There's a mental or first creation, and
a physical or second creation to all things. Begin with the end in
mind." ~ Stephen Covey
"Remember the two maxims of Tantra, 'One must rise by that by which
one falls, and the very poison that kills becomes the elixir of life
when used by the wise.” ~Swami Nikhilananda
"Find ecstasy within yourself. It is not out there. It is in your
innermost flowering. The one you are looking for is you. You are the
traveler and you are the destination. In experiencing the ecstasy of
your own being, you have achieved the final goal." ~Osho
"Learn to sit and rest. Fall into deep rest, so the breathing becomes
natural, the body becomes cool, all the fever of constant desire and
turmoil disappears, evaporates. And then work. That work will have a
totally different quality. It won't be out of desire, it will be pure
creativity." ~Osho
"God is there only if you surrender. Surrender makes anything God.
Surrender gives you the eyes, and everything that is brought to these
eyes becomes Divine. Don't waste your life for that which is going to
be taken away. Trust life. Trust God. If you trust, only then can you
drop your knowledge, only then can you put your mind aside. And with
trust, something immense opens up. Then this life is no longer
ordinary life, it becomes full of God, overflowing. When the heart is
innocent and the walls have disappeared, you are bridged with
infinity. And you are not deceived; there is nothing that can be taken
away from you. That which can be taken away from you is not worth
keeping, and that which cannot be taken away from you... why should
one be afraid of its being taken away? It cannot be taken away, there
is no possibility. You cannot lose your real treasure." ~Osho
‘’There are no choices that are really a detour that will take you far
from where you're wanting to be—because your Inner Being is always
guiding you to the next, and the next, and the next. So don't be
concerned that you may make a fatal choice, because there aren't any
of those. You are always finding your balance. It's a never ending
process’’ ~ Abraham-Hicks
"One who is connected to the Energy Stream is more powerful than a
million who are not. And two who are harmoniously focused and
connected to the Energy Stream brings about a co-creative endeavor
that cannot be matched by anything else in all of the Universe."
~Abraham Hicks
"Dive into your heart center. Sit in the silence. Desire
self-realization with all your heart, with all your mind, and all your
soul. Cry out for God, and you will be with the right people.
Everything will take care of itself." - Robert Adams
"Only do and act on only that which makes you more joyous, fulfills
you, gives you contentment, makes your life a work of art, a beauty.
But this is possible only if the master in you is awake. Right now the
master is fast asleep. And the mind, the servant, is playing the role
of master. And the servant is created by the outside world, it follows
the outside world and its laws. Once your awareness becomes a flame,
it burns up the whole slavery that the mind has created. There is no
blissfulness more precious than freedom, than being a master of your
own destiny." ~Osho
“ If you cannot face directly your sexuality, you will never discover
your true spirituality ” White Tigress Manual
"Seeing all as is, accepting all as is and co-creating with all as is.
When this is done in surrender and trust the darkest dark and the
lightest light are both deeply nourishing and necessary for anything
new to be born." ~ Susanna Nova
"There is no failure if one lives in Truth, Simplicity and Love. Do
not feel embarrassed. You have not failed. And you do not know the
outcome. Be in the present. Live in the present. That is all one can
do. Observe and know that what you see is the wheel of maya moving
round and round, always changing, never stopping for a moment. Know
this and know that there can be no failure.
Know this and understand that your emotions are but dancing chemicals
of up and down, on and off, temporary, impermanent." ~Babaji
“Yoga is suppression with awareness; tantra is indulgence with
awareness.” Osho
"When the violin can forgive the past it starts singing. When the
violin can stop worrying about the future, it will become such a drunk
laughing nuisence that God will then lean down and start combing you
into his hair. When the violin can forgive every wound caused by
others, the heart starts singing." - Hafiz
“Tantra is the hot blood of spiritual practice. It smashes the taboo
against unreasonable happiness; a thunderbolt path, swift, joyful, and
fierce. There is no authentic Tantra without profound commitment,
discipline, courage, and a sense of wild, foolhardy, fearless
abandon.” – Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
“Any real ecstasy is a sign you are moving in the right direction,
don’t let any prude tell you otherwise.” St Teresa of Avila

“Your task is not to seek for love but merely to seek and find all the
barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ~ Rumi
"Let us learn to dream, gentlemen, and then we may perhaps find the
truth." -F.A. Kekulé
Because every embodied individual is composed of a body, a mind and a
spirit, the ancient Rishis of India who developed the Science of Life
organized their wisdom into three bodies of knowledge: Ayurveda, which
deals mainly with the physical body; Yoga, which deals mainly with
spirit; and Tantra, which is mainly concerned with the mind. The
philosophy of all three is identical; their manifestations differ
because of their differing emphases. Robert Svoboda Motilal
Banarsidass
…each one of us is a union of all universal energy. Everything that we
need in order to be complete is within us right at this very moment.
It is simply a matter of being able to recognize it. This is the
tantric approach. Lama Thubten Yeshe
"In Tantra, the manner of approach is not that of Nay but of Yea! The
world attitude is affirmative.Man must approach through and by means
of nature, not by rejection of nature." ~ Zimmer
"Shambhala is a Sanskrit term comprising swayam and bhala. Self

“Eros guides us to Logos.” ~ Plato
"The real question is not whether life exists after death. The real
question is whether you are alive before death." ~Osho
"Therefore, the Holy One, blessed he be, dwells in him who (like Him)
is one. When man, in perfect holiness, realizes the One, He is in that
one. And when is that man called one? When man and woman are joined
together sexually. The Holy one is not called ‘One’ if not united with
the Shekinah." ~The Zohar
“Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.” Oscar Wilde
"Love alone is capable of uniting living beings in such a way as to
complete and fulfill them, for it alone takes them and joins them by

away and leave you shining, radiant, and righteously shameless.” ~
Elizabeth Cunningham
"Unless you become a buddha you have not lived at all because you will
not know the great poetry of life, the great music of existence. You
will not know the celestial celebration that goes on and on, you will
not know the dance of the stars. This bliss is for you! All these
flowers and all these songs and all these stars are for you. You are
entitled to miracles." ~Osho
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane
by those who could not hear the music." Friedrich Nietzsche
"Relaxing into the divine sexuality is the source and core energy for
all healing. Divinity and sexuality are one of the same. Sex and God
are the same thing. When I talk about my sexuality, I'm talking about
my spirituality." ~ Susanna Nova
“And this is a miracle: the moment that you realize that there is no
way to make a home, then this whole existence is home. Then wherever
you are, you are at home.” ~Course in Miracles

"Let us realize that engagement and detachment aren't opposite - the
more engaged we become the more detached we have to be." -Deepak
Chopra
"As we mature in our spiritual understanding, that we are a part of
everything in the world, and that we are capable of creating in our
world, the more we believe that it is possible the less important it
becomes to change the reality. When we feel we are powerless our ego
most wants to change the things in our world. As we realize we have
the power to change our reality the maturity that comes with that
understanding changes us, and we find ourselves in acceptance of what
is with less desire of feeling our need to change the world around
us." -Gregg Braden
"We are like lutes once held by God. Being away from His warm body
fully explains this constant yearning." ~Hafiz
“If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.”

"Do you know how beautiful you are? I think not, my dear. For as you
talk of God, I see great parades with wildly colorful bands streaming
from your mind and heart, carrying wonderful and secret messages to
every corner of this world. I see saints bowing in the mountains
Hundreds of miles away to the wonder of sounds that break into light
from your most common words." ~Hafiz

"Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am
large, I contain multitudes." ~Walt Whitman
"You are the pulsing heart of the emptiness, the mountain strength of
the vastness." ~Pamela Wilson
"There are no mistakes anywhere, at any time. What appears to be wrong
is simply your own false imagination." ~Robert Adams
"Watch deeply, then you will become the host and thoughts will be the
guests. And as guests they are beautiful, but if you forget completely
that you are the host and they become the hosts, then you are in a
mess. This is what hell is. You are the master of the house, the house
belongs to you, and guests have become the masters. Receive them, take
care of them, but don’t get identified with them; otherwise, they will
become the masters." ~Osho
"You go on thinking that thoughts are yours. Not only that, you fight
for your thoughts, you say, ”This my thought, this is true.”You
discuss, you debate, you argue about it, you try to prove that, ”This
is my thought.” No thought is yours, no thought is original–all
thoughts are borrowed. And not second hand, because millions of people
have claimed those same thoughts before you.Thought is just as outside
as a thing." -Osho
"Every brother is a gift because every person is unique and brings
something new to the table. There is nothing like newness to stimulate
rebirth." ~St Francis of Assisi
“Only you can say where the road goes for one sets his goals for the
hour, for the relationship, for the phase of life." — L. Ron Hubbard
“One can feel at times like a spinning leaf blown along a dirty
street, one can feel like a grain of sand stuck in one place. But
nobody has said that life was a calm and orderly thing: it isn’t. One
isn’t a tattered leaf nor a grain of sand: one can, to greater or
lesser degree draw his road map and follow it." — L. Ron Hubbard
“One can feel that things are such now that it is much too late to do
anything, that one’s past road is so messed up that there is no chance
of drawing a future one that will be any different: there is always a
point on the road when one can map a new one. And try to follow it.
There is no person alive who cannot make a new beginning." — L. Ron
Hubbard
'When you love, you have to become nobody. If you remain somebody,
then love never happens. When you love a person–even for a single
moment love happens and flows between two persons–there are two
nothingnesses, not two persons. If you have ever had any experience of
love, you can understand. Two lovers sitting by each other’s side, or
two nothingnesses sitting together–only then the meeting is possible
because barriers are broken, boundaries thrown away. The energy can
move from here to there; there is no hindrance. And only in such a
moment of deep love is orgasm possible." -Osho
"All the greatest treasures are hidden behind that which we wouldn't
want to be with. You're this ultimate mischief and brilliance. All the
wisdom, compassion and treasure is within...so where are you going to
hide it?" ~Pamela Wilson
"It's such a surprise to notice that you are the pulsing heart of the
emptiness, the mountain strength of the vastness." ~Pamela Wilson
"The day on which we come to know the supreme consciousness within us,
then the outside world will also appear to us like the expanse of the
supreme consciousness. The whole will be a mirror to us when we become
a mirror within. If we stand near a stone, then we will be able to see
ourselves even in the stone. Then we will not look at the stone with
that hardness with which we look at man now. Then we shall touch a
stone as if we are touching our beloved, because the stone is not
stone, then it is God." ~Osho
"It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible
to find it elsewhere." -Agnes Repplier
"There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying
about things that are beyond the power of our will." -Epictetus
"For the rational, healthy person, the desire for pleasure is the
desire to celebrate his control over reality. For the neurotic, the
desire for pleasure is the desire to escape from reality." -Nathaniel

one-directionally, without regret or reservation." -William H. Sheldon
"We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of
life, when all that we need to make us really happy is something to be
enthusiastic about." -Charles Kingsley
"Tantra is the science of contacting souls, of going to the deepest
core of the other. Tantra is one of the most important secrets ever
discovered. But it is very delicate because it is the greatest art. To
create a communion with the energy of the other, a dancing communion
is the greatest and most difficult art to learn." ~Osho
"If you remain aware you will come to know that sex is not just sex.
Sex is the outermost layer, deep inside is the love, and even deeper
is prayer, and deepest is God himself. Sex can become a cosmic
experience. Then it is Tantra." ~Osho
"Tantra is one of the greatest treasures that is - lying there,
unused. The day humanity uses it, the earth will become a glow with a
new love. This very earth can be paradise. It is impossible if you
depend on nature. It is very, very possible if you depend on Tantra."
~Osho
"In meditation, if two meditators share their energies, love is a
constant phenomenon. It does not change. It takes the quality of
eternity. It becomes divine. The meeting of love and meditation is the
greatest experience of life." ~Osho
"Love is not sex. Sex can happen in love, it can be a part, integral
part to it, but sex itself is not love it is a substitute. You are
trying to avoid love through sex. You are giving yourself a feeling
that you are in love, and you are not moving into love. Sex is just
like borrowed knowledge: giving a feeling of knowing without knowing;
giving a feeling of love and loving without loving." ~Osho
"When you become the deepest valley of reception, then the highest
peaks of consciousness can be given to you. Only a valley can receive
a peak. A disciple should be absolutely feminine, receptive, like a
womb. Only then such a phenomenon happens as is going to happen in
this song." ~Osho
"The urge of the human body, like the animal body, to reproduce is
very strong. Even if the Divine consciousness and love in the human
heart is obscured, the physical urge driven by the reptile brain
continues. The physical orgasm, especially in the male body, is a
tremendous drive that exists so that the bodies shall make sure¯ that
the human race survives. Even if human beings intuitively know that
there is something more to human sexuality, they seem to either try to
reach deep happiness through extreme physical sexuality or to attain
true bliss by taking away sexuality; as in many spiritual
circumstances where sex is considered or experienced as a hindering to
a Godly or Divine life. This is because sexuality has become more and
more bodily and male oriented. Kundalini awakening that unfolds Divine
consciousness through sublimation of the sexual energy is very unusual
today. Where it happens, in true heart chakra connected love
relations, it happens slowly and beautifully." ~Osho
"The only real reason to exist as a human is to manifest the Divine in
human shape. All resources the human being administers or may
administer are therefore means in this process, including the human
body itself. Whatever else that the human being is focusing on creates
sufferings. All human beings are born with the inner yearning of being
conscious creators in manifesting the Divine in human shape. Thus
every child, every human being, needs to meet with mirrors within
their social environment that nurture this yearning." ~Osho
"The moment you start seeing life as non-serious, a playfulness, all
the burden on your heart disappears. All the fear of death, of life,
of love - everything disappears. One starts living with a very light
weight or almost no weight. So weightless one becomes, one can fly in
the open sky." ~Osho
"Love and hate are not real opposites, but love and fear are real
opposites. Hate can become love very easily: it is really love
standing upside-down. It is not very far from love, it is love energy
in a disturbed state. The energy can be calmed, stilled. It is only a
question of rearranging the energy, and hate can become love. And we
know – it happens every day in life – love can become hate, hate can
become love. You hate the same person and you love the same person.
One moment you hate, another moment you love. So love and hate are two
sides of the same coin, they are not real opposites."~Osho
"Unless you become a buddha you have not lived at all, because you
will not know the great poetry of life, the great music of existence.
You will not know the celestial celebration that goes on and on, you
will not know the dance of the stars. This bliss is for you! All these
flowers, all these songs and all these stars are for you. You are
entitled to miracles." ~Osho
"My understanding is that whatsoever is given to you is precious. If
it was not so, existence would not have given it to you." ~Osho
"Through intense deep meditation you reach a state that is beyond
thought, beyond change, beyond imagination, beyond differences and
duality. Once you can stay in that state for a while and come out of
it without losing any of it, then the inner divine love will begin to
pour through you. You will not see people as different, separate
individuals. You will see your own Self in everyone around you. Then
the flow of love from within you will be constant and unbroken."
~Swami Muktananda
"I would like to give you two things: Roots into this earth and wings
into the heaven. Meditation is the earth, it is here and now; the very
moment you can spread your roots, do it. And once roots are there,
your wings will reach the highest sky possible. Compassion is the sky,
meditation is the earth, and when meditation and compassion meet, a
Buddha is born." ~ Osho
"God is there only if you surrender. Surrender makes anything God.
Surrender gives you the eyes, and everything that is brought to these
eyes becomes Divine." ~Osho
"All journeys our
outward journeys, there is no inward journey. How can you turn
inwards? You are already there, there is no point in going. When going
stops, journeying disappears. When desiring is no more clouding the
mind, you are in." - OSHO
1) Experience
life in all possible ways -- good-bad, bitter-sweet,
dark-light, summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don't be afraid of experience, because the more
experience you have, the more mature you become.
2) Ecstasy is
our very nature; not to be ecstatic is simply
unnecessary. To be ecstatic is natural, spontaneous. It
needs no effort to be ecstatic, it needs great effort to
be miserable. That's why you look to tired, because
misery is really hard work; to maintain it is really
difficult, because you are doing something against
nature.
3) Remain in
wonder if you want the mysteries to open up for you.
Mysteries never open up for those who go on questioning.
Questioners sooner or later end up in a library.
Questioners sooner or later end up with scriptures,
because scriptures are full of answers. And answers are
dangerous, they kill your wonder."
4) All the
Buddhas of all the ages have been telling you a very
simple fact: Be -- don't try to become. Within these two
words, be and becoming, your whole life is contained.
Being is enlightenment, becoming is ignorance.
6) Truth cannot
be defined, although it can certainly be experienced. But
experience is not a definition. A definition is made by
the mind, experience comes through participating. If
somebody asks, "What is a dance?" how can you
define it? But you can dance and you can know the inner
feel of it. God is the ultimate dance.
7) To be
creative means to be in love with life. You can be
creative only if you love life enough that you want to
enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music
to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to
it.
8) No dead
principles can help, but only living consciousness. Be
absolutely unprincipled and just follow life.
9) You can go on
changing the outer for lives and you will never be
satisfied; something or other will remain to be changed.
Unless the inner changes, the outer can never be perfect.
10) Any human
being who is becoming independent of conditionings, of
religions, scriptures, prophets and messiahs, has
arrived home. He has found the treasure which was hidden
in his own being.
11) To be alone
in the only real revolution. To accept that you are alone
is the greatest transformation that can happen to you.
12) Falling in
love you remain a child; rising in love you mature. By
and by love becomes not a relationship, it becomes a
state of your being. Not that you are in love - now you
are love.
13) Become more
and more innocent, less knowledgeable and more childlike.
Take life as fun - because that's precisely what it is!
14) If you take
the responsibility for your life you can start changing
it. Slow will be the change, only in the course of time
will you start; moving into the world of light and
crystallization, but once you are crystallized you will
know what real revolution is. Then share your revolution
with others; it has to go that way, from heart to heart.
15) Intelligence
is a natural phenomenon -- just as breathing is, just as
seeing is. Intelligence is the inner seeing; it is
intuitive. It has nothing to do with intellect. Never
confuse intellect with intelligence, they are polar
opposites. Intellect is of the head; it is taught by
others, it is imposed on you. You have to cultivate it.
It is borrowed, it is something foreign, it is not
inborn. But intelligence is inborn. It is your very
being, your very nature.
16) Drop the
fear. Fear was taken up by you in your childhood,
unconsciously. Now consciously drop it and be mature.
Then the life can be a light which goes on deepening as
you go on growing.
17) Know the
whole world is nothing when it is compared to knowing
your own inner mystery of life.
18) Seriousness
is a sickness; your sense of humor makes you more human,
more humble. The sense of humor -- according to me -- is
one of the most essential parts of religiousness.
19) Misery
nourishes your ego -- that's why you see so many
miserable people in the world. The basic, central point
is the ego.
20) The beauty of facing life
unprepared is tremendous. Then life has a newness, a
youth; then life has a flow and freshness. Then life has
so many surprises. And when life has so many surprises
boredom never settles in you.
21) What is
needed is not something in which you can forget your
loneliness; what is needed is that you become aware of
your aloneness which is a reality. And it is so
beautiful to experience it, to feel it, because it is
your freedom from the crowd, from the other. It is your
freedom from the fear of being lonely.
22) Man has lost
one quality, the quality of zestfulness. And without
zest, what is life? Just waiting for death? It can't be
anything else. Only with zest do you live; otherwise you
vegetate.
23) The
perfectionist is bound to be a neurotic, he cannot enjoy
life, until he is perfect. And perfection as such never
happens, it is not in the nature of things. Totality is
possible, perfection is not possible.
24) Your
innermost core has always been pure. Purity is intrinsic
to you, it cannot be taken away. Your virginity is
eternal. You cannot lose it, there is no way to lose it.
You can only forget about it or you can remember it. If
you forget about it, you live in confusion. If you
remember about it, all is clear.
25) In this
world the greatest courage is to drop the mind aside. The
bravest man is who can see the world without the barrier
of the mind, just as it is. It is tremendously different,
utterly beautiful. There is nobody who is inferior and
there is nobody who is superior -- there are no
distinctions.
26) The mind
exists in time, in fact the mind is time; it exists in
the past and the future. And remember, time consists of
only two tenses, the past and the future. The present is
not part of time, the present is part of eternity.
27) Mind is
repetitive, mind always moves in circles. Mind is a
mechanism: you feed it with knowledge, it repeats the
same knowledge, it goes on chewing the same knowledge
again and again. No-mind is clarity, purity, innocence.
No-mind is the real way to live, the real way to know,
the real way to be.
28) Millions of
people are suffering: they want to be loved but they
don't know how to love. And love cannot exist as a
monologue; it is a dialogue, a very harmonious dialogue.
29) There is no
evil and there are no evil forces in the world. There are
only people of awareness, and there are people who are
fast asleep -- and sleep has no force. The whole energy
is in the hands of the awakened people. And one awakened
person can awaken the whole world. One lighted candle can
make millions of candles lighted without losing it's
light.
30) The heart is
always right-- if there's a question of choosing between
the mind and the heart-- because mind is a creation of
the society. It has been educated. You have been given it
by the society, not by existence. The heart is
unpolluted.
31) The 'truth'
is only a way of speaking; there is not something labeled
'Truth,' that one day you will find and open the box and
see the contents and say, 'Great! I have found the
truth.' There is no such box. Your existence is the
truth, and when you are silent you are in truth. And if
the silence is absolute then you are the ultimate truth.
But don't think of the truth as an object it is not
an object. It is not there, it is here.
32) Mind
functions in 'either/or' way: either this can be right or
its opposite can be right. Both together cannot be right
-- as far as mind, its logic, its rationality is
concerned. If mind is 'either/or' then the heart is
'both/and.' The heart has no logic, but a sensitivity, a
perceptivity. It can see that they both can not only be
together, in fact they are not two. It is just one
phenomenon seen from two different aspects.
33) The heart
knows nothing of the past, nothing of the future; it
knows only of the present. The heart has no time concept.
34) If the whole
existence is one, and if the existence goes on taking
care of trees, of animals, of mountains, of oceans
from the smallest blade of grass to the biggest
star -- then it will take care of you too. Why be
possessive? The possessiveness shows simply one thing
that you cannot trust existence. You have to
arrange separate security for yourself, safety for
yourself; you cannot trust existence. Non-possessiveness
is basically trust in existence. There is no need to
possess, because the whole is already ours.
35) Drop guilt!
-- because to be guilty is to live in hell. Not being
guilty, you will have the freshness of dewdrops in the
early morning sun, you will have the freshness of lotus
petals in the lake, you will have the freshness of the
stars in the night. Once guilt disappears you will have a
totally different kind of life, luminous and radiant. You
will have a dance to your feet and your heart will be
singing a thousand and one songs.
36) If the mind wants
to comprehend reality, it will have to come out of the
past and the future. But coming out of the past and the
future, it is no longer the mind at all. Hence the
insistence of all the great masters of the world that the
door to reality is no-mind.
37) Existence is
not a problem to be solved, it is a mystery to be lived.
And you should be perfectly aware what the difference is
between a mystery and a problem. A problem is something
created by the mind; a mystery is something which is
there, not created by the mind. A problem has an ugliness
in it, like disease. A mystery is beautiful. With a
problem, immediately a fight arises. You have to solve
it; something is wrong, you have to put it right;
something is missing, you have to supply the missing
link. With a mystery there is no question like that. The
moon arises in the night.... It is not a problem, it is a
mystery. You have to live with it. You have to dance with
it. You have to sing with it, or you can be just silent
with it. Something mysterious surrounds you."
38) Be less of a
judge and you will be surprised that when you become a
witness and you don't judge yourself, you stop judging
others too. And that makes you more human, more
compassionate, more understanding.
39) Looking at a
sunset, just for a second you forget your separateness:
you are the sunset. That is the moment when you feel the
beauty of it. But the moment you say that it is a
beautiful sunset, you are no longer feeling it; you have
come back to your separate, enclosed entity of the ego.
Now the mind is speaking. And this is one of the
mysteries, that the mind can speak, and knows nothing;
and the heart knows everything, and cannot speak. Perhaps
to know too much makes it difficult to speak; the mind
knows so little, it is possible for it to speak."
40) The witnessing soul is like the sky. The
birds fly in the sky but they don't leave any footprints.
\line That's what Buddha says, that the man who is
awakened lives in such a way that he leaves no
footprints. He is without wounds and without scars; he
never looks back -- there is no point. He has lived that
moment so totally that what is the need to look back
again and again? He never looks ahead, he never looks
back, he lives in the moment.
41)
All beings are from the very beginning Buddhas. It is
like water and ice: Apart from water, no ice, outside
living beings, no Buddhas. Not knowing it is near they
seek it afar, what a pity!
42)
You are a Buddha. But remember you are not a Buddha in
any special sense. Everybody is - So don't take it in an
egoistic sense that "I" am a Buddha. Don't make
it ambitious, don't go on an ambition trip. All is
Buddha. Life is Buddha, being is Buddha-hood, existence is Buddha-hood.
43)
All that you need is
just to be silent and listen to existence. There is no need of any
religion, there is no need of any God, there is no need of any
priesthood, there is no need of any organization.
44) The whole world
is a cyclone. But once you have found the center the
cyclone disappears. This nothingness is the ultimate peak
of consciousness.
45) All
that this world needs is a good cleansing of the heart of all the
inhibitions of the past. And laughter and tears can do
both. Tears will take out all the agony that is hidden inside you
and laughter will take all that is preventing your ecstasy. Once
you have learned the art you will be immensely surprised.
46) Life is not a
tragedy, it is a comedy. To be alive means to have a
sense of humor.
47) If
you are absolutely without mind, just pure consciousness,
time stops completely, disappears, leaving no trace
behind.
48)
Unless you become a buddha you have not lived at all because you will
not know the great poetry of life, the great music of existence. You
will not know the celestial celebration that goes on and on, you will
not know the dance of the stars. This bliss is for you! All these
flowers and all these songs and all these stars are for you. You are
entitled to miracles.
49) The
day on which we come to know the supreme consciousness within us, then
the outside world will also appear to us like the expanse of the supreme
consciousness. The whole will be a mirror to us when we become a mirror
within. If we stand near a stone, then we will be able to see ourselves
even in the stone. Then we will not look at the stone with that hardness
with which we look at man now. Then we shall touch a stone as if we are
touching our beloved, because the stone is not stone, then it is God.
50) When
you love, you have to become nobody. If you remain somebody, then love
never happens. When you love a person–even for a single moment love
happens and flows between two persons–there are two nothingnesses, not
two persons. If you have ever had any experience of love, you can
understand. Two lovers sitting by each other’s side, or two
nothingnesses sitting together–only then the meeting is possible because
barriers are broken, boundaries thrown away. The energy can move from
here to there; there is no hindrance. And only in such a moment of deep
love is orgasm possible.
